Whether they are grown in soil, grow rooms or green houses, plants need air, water and sunlight. Growers therefore need to ensure that plants receive adequate amounts of these essential inputs. But it is equally important to take adequate measures to ensure that plants do not fall prey to pests and parasites that are always present in the air. In the controlled conditions of greenhouses and grow rooms, one way to do this is to use filters to keep out molds, bacteria and other organisms. But filters come in many varieties, so how do you go about deciding which one is the best your money can buy?
You need not spend time and money trying to figure that out. At IGS, we have, not one but two lines of high performance, heavy duty filters to meet the demanding requirements of hydroponics and greenhouse gardening. Our range of high performance filters include the following
Organic Air Charcoal Fiber Filters Our line of filters uses activated carbon fiber to trap not only particles and organisms but also odors and gases. Activated carbon absorbs gases and particles by a combination of London Force and small electrostatic forces. In simple terms activated carbon acts like a sponge at the micro-level absorbing particulate matter, vapors, gases etc.
Active carbon is made from carbon fiber. When heated to over 2,000°C under high pressure carbon fiber develops fissures on the surface creating a high quality, small pore activated carbon. The millions of exceedingly small pores on the fiber surface create a very large surface area to trap dust, micro-organisms, and odors. To get an idea of mega filtering power of the micro pores imagine the area of a regular football field- well that is the area rolled out by the pores in just one gram of activated carbon.
To optimize filtering capability Organic Air Filters use a combination of circumferential, vertical pleats and an inverted nose cone – a unique design feature that offers the largest surface area of active carbon fiber on the market. The pleats more than double the surface area without increasing filter size and the inverted nose cone ensures that air will flow through the sides of the filter or through the large surface area of the nose. Unlike a flat nose surface on other filters, (and some that purposely don’t filter air (neoprene or metal)), our inverted nose forces the air along the entire length of the cone instead of straight out of a flat nosed surface. In other words Organic Air Filters integrate the filtering power of active carbon fiber with unique design features to offer the highest capacity filter in the market that is also the most compact filter you can get.
“The Freshmaker” line will enable single pass filtration of strong odors at very high flow rates. These highly efficient charcoal fiber filters can be used in the front or the end of any exhaust line. You may push or pull air through them. They have a tough structure that won’t collapse, they are extremely light, easy to handle and attach and they do not need any assembly. 0-4000 CFM or *** M3/H

Organic Air HEPA Filters
Available in 4” and 6” sizes these filters ensure entry to only high
quality, clean air into your grow room and greenhouses.
The Organic Air HEPA filter has been developed using opposing dual cone technology that optimizes airflow even as it traps and filters out 90 % of molds, insects and bacteria. With the Organic Air Filter protection, your greenhouse or grow room provides just the kind of sterile conditions your plants need to grow to their full potential.
